Expert at Picking Litter

As part of our Green School's Project, we are committed to keeping our school grounds as litter free as possible. The senior classes are taking turns to pick up litter. Go to the Green School blog to find out when it is your class' turn.

The Incy Wincy Spider

Click on Ms. Farelly's 6th class blog to see some photos of her class collecting spiders for scientific study. Incidentally, September is an excellent month for collecting spiders as they are plentiful at this time of year.

Clean School-Green School

Our Coiste Glas decided to help our excellent caretaker, Jimmy Francis, to keep the grounds of Scoil San Phroinsias looking spic and span. To this end, the classes from 1st to 6th are taking turns, once a week, to remove litter from the school environs. Rang a 3 had their turn this week. The new Green School Committee

The new Green school committee started this week. We will be in charge of the school's Green School Activities. We will also be working really hard to achieve the green flag. Our whole school will help by recycling, re-using things and picking up rubbish around the school.

Green School Committee

As the new school year gets underway, so too does the new Green School's Committee, An Coiste Glas. The committee this year will be made up of class representatives from 1st to 6th classes, aswell as 2 teachers. Their job is to encourage everyone in Scoil San Phroinsias to reduce, re-use and recycle. They will be coming up with some novel ideas of how to do this over the coming weeks, I'm sure! This year, the Coiste Glas hope to involve the infant classes more, and to this end we welcome Ms. Sands aboard the coiste. Regular updates about the green activites of the school will be posted on the Green School Blog.
