Rusty Nails

You can see some great young scientists on Ms. Kelly's 1st class blog!

Incredible Edibles

The Incredible Edibles pack from Agri Aware arrived in Scoil San Phroinsias this week. The pack contained some strawberry crowns, some cabbage, lettuce and scallion seeds and some potatoes, as well as plenty of pots, some compost and a cd rom for the computer. Check out Ms. O'Byrne's 3rd class blog for more details, and to keep track of how well our fruit and vegetables are growing.

Mid Term Break February 2009

Welcome back to all the children and teachers after a lovely mid-term break. The senior classes are busy now, learning new tinwhistle tunes, for St. Patrick's Day. Watch out for us as we march around the area over the next few weeks, practicing for the parade!
Congratulations also to two students from 6th class, Nicole and Róisín, who won prizes in the
organised by the environmental section of City Hall. Both girls will have their art work appear in a 2009 calendar which will be distributed shortly.

4.02.09

Today is the day! We had our Big Spring Clean Up in Scoil San Phroinsias today. Everyone, from Junior Infants right up to Rang a 6 helped out. We are well on the way to getting our 1st green flag!

We started with the junior infants. I was there too and they found a glove. Then we moved on to the senior infants .The senior infants and the junior infants thought that stones were rubbish! Then it was the first classes turn. They were very excited and made a lot of noise!. Then it was the second classes turn . They found more normal rubbish . Then it was supossed to be the third classes turn but the sixth classes went first . They went all the way to the church and they found a land mower and a door mat . Then us third classes went outside and we found lids of plastic bottles and chewing gum and all kinds of paper . Then the fourth classes went outside . Then it was the fifth classes turn . That was all the classes filled in for the day. There was nobody left in the school to go out for rubbish . We all did our best and we hope to get a Green Flag! By Klaudia, Rang a 3.

Lá le Bríde 2009

Lá le Bríde, the 1st of February, announces the arrival of Spring. St. Bridgid was born in Faughart in the middle of the 5th century. The St. Bridgid's cross is named after her. Ms. O'Byrne's class enjoyed learning how to make crosses from rushes. Check out their class blog for more photos!
